Smart Toilet Installation
Installing a smart toilet is almost the same as installing a regular one: you need a water supply and a 220 V power outlet nearby. There is no need to drill the floor or walls for the electronics.
What You Need
- A cold water supply for the toilet's hose to connect to
- A 220 V power outlet near the toilet to run the heating, drying and electronics
- A drain outlet into the wall or into the floor, which determines the model
- For a wall-hung model, an in-wall installation frame
Wall or Floor Drain Outlet
Wall-hung models of the D series and the floor-standing O92, O92B, O93, O93B and O24 connect to a drain in the wall. If your drain pipe comes out of the floor, choose a model with the letter F: O92F and O93F have a floor outlet.
Check the Water Flow If You Choose a Tankless Model
Wall-hung models and the floor-standing O92B and O93B have a built-in tank, so water pressure does not matter for them. The tankless floor-standing O92, O93, O92F, O93F and O24 need good flow pressure, and a reading in bar won't tell you whether you have it if the supply line has narrowings.
The test: turn on the water through the hose that will feed the toilet and fill an empty 5 L bottle for 15 seconds. If you get 4.5 L or more, the flush will work. If less, choose a model with a tank. Learn more in our article on the tankless toilet with an impulse valve.
