Tankless Smart Toilets
The flush comes straight from the water supply through an impulse valve, so good flow pressure is required.
The tankless models are the floor-standing O92, O92F, O93 and O93F. They flush through an impulse valve straight from the water supply, so they need good water pressure.
What matters is flow pressure: how much water passes through the supply line during a flush. You can't measure it in bar: even at 10 bar, the flow drops sharply if a 3/4-inch hose on the supply line steps down to 1/2 inch. That is why the pressure is checked with water; the method is below.
If your pressure is low or fluctuates, choose the same model with a tank, O92B or O93B, or a wall-hung one: wall-hung models always have a built-in tank.
How to check the flow in 15 seconds
- Take an empty 5-litre bottle and the hose that will supply the toilet.
- Turn the water on for 15 seconds.
- 4.5 litres or more (18 L/min) means the flow is sufficient.
Less than that, or the pressure fluctuates? Choose a model with a tank: O92B, O93B or any wall-hung model.
Questions
How do I check whether a tankless toilet will work for me?
Take an empty 5 L bottle, hold it under the hose that will feed the toilet and turn the water on for 15 seconds. If you collect 4.5 L or more, the pressure is fine and the flush will work.
Why can't I go by the pressure in bar?
Flushing depends on the flow of water, not on the pressure in the pipe. Narrowings in the supply line, such as a 3/4-inch hose stepping down to 1/2 inch, sharply reduce the flow even at high pressure.
What if my water pressure fluctuates?
Choose a model with a tank: the floor-standing O92B and O93B or any D-series wall-hung model.
