What consumables a smart toilet needs

Smart toilet foam, a carbon filter and a UV lamp — those are all the consumables an owner needs to keep in mind. A smart toilet does not involve big ongoing costs: the bidet nozzle cleans itself and is disinfected with ultraviolet light, without chemicals.

Below we go through each item in detail, and also explain where to buy consumables and spare parts for our models and who can help with replacement.

Smart toilet foam: what the foam shield is for

Before use, the foam shield covers the water in the bowl with a layer of thick foam. The foam works like a lid over the water: splashes don't rise and odors stay beneath it. Dirt also sticks to the bowl less, and using the toilet simply feels nicer.

The foam shield is built into all our models except VECTOR D88, which has an external one. Learn more about the technology on the “Foam shield” page.

What foam to use

For the foam shield of our toilets, the accessories section offers smart toilet foam in a 680 ml bottle; the current price is shown there. If you have a toilet of another brand, first check which product the manufacturer or seller recommends, and don't replace it with whatever detergent is at hand.

Tablets, liquids and store-bought “toilet foam”

Searching for “toilet foam” or “smart toilet tablets” turns up all kinds of products: for cleaning the bowl, for the tanks of regular toilets, for models from other manufacturers. What suits one toilet will not necessarily suit another. The rule is simple: fill the foam shield cartridge only with what is intended for your model. For our toilets, that is the foam from the accessories section; if in doubt, ask a manager before buying.

How to refill the foam

The refilling procedure depends on the model, so follow your toilet's manual. In our models, the foam cartridge can be replaced without tools. If anything is unclear, message us on Telegram, WhatsApp or MAX: a manager will tell you where the cartridge is on your model and how to replace it.

How often to top up the foam depends on how many people use the toilet. It is handy to keep a spare bottle at home so the foam doesn't run out at the wrong moment.

Smart toilet filter: when to replace it

Our models have a carbon filter, which is replaced every 6–12 months. The model's manual shows where it is installed and how to remove it; if you don't have the manual at hand, ask a manager or the service team. They can also tell you which point in this range to aim for, given how you use the toilet.

If the toilet came with your apartment and you don't know when the filter was last replaced, it is easiest to put in a new one right away and start counting from scratch.

The filter, like other spare parts for our models, is in stock at our Moscow warehouse: 100% of spare parts are available. We ship to other regions via CDEK on the day you contact us.

Write down the date the toilet was installed and the dates the filter was replaced — for example, in your phone's calendar with a reminder in 6 months. That way you won't lose track.

UV lamp: rated for 8,000 hours

All our models have UV sterilization: ultraviolet light treats the bidet nozzle and destroys up to 99.9% of bacteria without chemicals. Learn more on the UV sterilization page.

The lamp is rated for 8,000 hours of operation — about 3–4 years. You won't have to replace it often, but when the time comes, it is best left to the service team: in Moscow, the service center on Arbat Street; in other regions, you can do it yourself with a technician guiding you over a video call.

Care that needs no consumables

Much of a smart toilet works without your involvement and without any purchases:

  • nozzle self-cleaning — the bidet nozzle rinses itself;
  • UV sterilization of the nozzle — without chemicals;
  • rimless bowl — no rim for dirt to hide under;
  • Tornado swirl flush and auto flush when you leave.

You still need to clean the bowl and seat as you would with a regular toilet: see the model's manual for suitable products and the care routine. For care, modes and settings, see our article how to use a smart toilet.

Smart toilet spare parts and service

Consumables are not the only thing you may need. If a function stops working, you need a spare part and possibly a technician's help. For our models, 100% of spare parts are in stock at our Moscow warehouse, and in Moscow there is a service center on Arbat Street (daily from 12:00 to 21:00).

How service works for other regions:

  1. You message us on Telegram, WhatsApp or MAX — the service team is available 24/7.
  2. A technician runs a diagnosis over a video call — about 15 minutes.
  3. The part ships from our Moscow warehouse via CDEK on the day you contact us, free of charge under warranty.
  4. You replace the part with a technician guiding you over video — usually in about 20 minutes.

Before contacting us, have the model name ready and record a short video of what is happening — this makes it easier for the technician to find the cause.

During the warranty period — 1 year on all models — repairs are free, spare parts are original, and completed repairs come with a warranty of up to 6 months. Learn more on the service and repair and warranty pages.

Cheat sheet: smart toilet consumables and when to replace them

  • Foam — as it runs out; keep a spare bottle at home.
  • Carbon filter — every 6–12 months.
  • UV lamp — after 8,000 hours of operation, roughly every 3–4 years.
  • Everything else — as needed: if something breaks, contact the service team; the part for our models will be available at our Moscow warehouse.

How much maintenance costs

Of the regular costs, the foam price is listed on the website: see the 680 ml bottle in the Accessories section. Ask a manager about the cost of the filter and UV lamp for your model. Repairs during the warranty year are free, and we also ship warranty parts to other regions free of charge.

If you are still choosing a model, look at toilets with UV sterilization — that's all our models — and compare them by other features in the model comparison.
